— POINT LAST SEEN: “Campy romance” or “Nerve-shredding, edge-of-your-seat suspense?”
— A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT in Audiobook!
— Help! I need an idea!
As you recall, due to supply chain issues, the publication of POINT LAST SEEN has been moved to July 26. Will you like the story? Maybe a review or two will help you decide.
On Goodreads, one review starts, “You can really tell that this mystery/thriller is published by Harlequin, because it has that campy romance thing going on big time.”
In the American Library Association’s magazine, Booklist, the reviewer gave POINT LAST SEEN a starred review (!) and said, “When it comes to nerve-shredding, edge-of-your-seat suspense, Dodd consistently delivers the goods…Punctuated with delicious outbursts of Dodd’s diabolical wit, POINT LAST SEEN is a gobsmackingly great read.”
So there you go. If you love “nerve-shredding, edge-of-your-seat suspense,” mixed with “that campy romance thing,” and “delicious outbursts of diabolical wit,” POINT LAST SEEN is the mystery/thriller for you! :beaming:

A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT in Audiobook!
Let’s talk about one of your favorite suspense series (and mine), the Virtue Falls series. The full-length books include:
These full-length stories have become the basis of one of my cult series; you love the small town of Virtue Falls and you relate to Kateri Kwinault, the woman whose story forms the thread between the books. She’s a fascinating, powerful female figure who overcomes all obstacles of birth and misfortune to become a leader in Virtue Falls.
In addition to those titles, the Virtue Falls series includes the short stories:
- THE LISTENER: Misfit and computer security expert Cornelia Markum hacks into a text conversation between unidentified Virtue Falls residents … and realizes she’s stumbled into a murder plot.
- LOVE NEVER DIES: A murder committed. A love lost. A ghost haunted by his past. Only one woman can right all the wrongs… If she can survive the night…
- THE WATCHER: When Sheriff Kateri Kwinault gets a call about something strange happening at the local boys’ and girls’ summer camp, she finds herself telling a scary story that might be a little too close to the truth…
Now, thanks to Brilliance Audio, these three short stories are available in one fabulous audio package, A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.
You can also get the Virtue Falls stories in eBook, either together as A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT and separately, and if you buy A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT for Kindle, you can add audible narration for $1.99. That’s a great deal! Listen to an excerpt.
A lot of readers don’t love short stories or novellas, but if you would permit me—one short story from this collection is such a fun, excellent introduction to Virtue Falls I urge you to read it. To entice you, THE LISTENER eBook is only 99 cents. Take a chance!

Help! I need a clever idea!
Finally…sometimes good luck falls in your lap. When I told Assistant Judie that POINT LAST SEEN was scheduled to publish on June 21, she said, “That’s the summer solstice! You can promote it from your stone circle!” I was so excited. I had my newsletter planned, my videos staged…it was going to be a brilliant book release day! … But sometimes Fate (in this case, Fate is called Supply Chain) snatches that good luck away.
But let that not get us down! Here’s the plan. On this summer solstice, as The Husband and I always do, we’ll go out into the stone circle at dawn, light a fire, and watch the sun come up, and I’ll toss something in the fire to celebrate the upcoming POINT LAST SEEN release. A pencil? A calendar? A roll of toilet paper?
Oh, geeze, not toilet paper. That’s just asking for trouble. 😯
I’ll take a video, write a newsletter, share the day with you, and we’ll all celebrate POINT LAST SEEN. What do you think I should sacrifice in the fire? Click here to offer your suggestions!
Until next time, happy reading!
Warmly,
Christina Dodd
